Civilian secuirty forces officer fired.

Vance AFB - Enid, Oklahoma
A civilian security forces officer was fired after he refused entry on base to a woman who's status in the US was no longer legal. The woman was the mother of the base commanders wifes housekeeper.

Something sure looks dirty there. I do hope a full investigation is started and that Commander is held responsible for his actions; not the fact that he (or his wife) was contracting illegal aliens to clean their house, but for the fact that he fired the Security Forces guy who was just doing his job!

Maybe fishy, maybe not. The officer was terminated within days of the incident. Nowhere does he, the reporter, or the commander state the reason for the termination. It could certainly be due to any number of things.

What's interesting is that the fired officer is "blowing the whistle" after the fact.

Ever since the AF began contracting out the gates to civilian security agencies, there have always been issues. As noted in this article, pyhsical fitness standards and verbal clashes become a problem relatively often. I understand why the Air Force made that decision, but now they are stuck controlling "contractors", as opposed to Airmen.

As most things are, it's primarily a financial decision. Contractors don't require housing (or housing allowances), medical coverage, dental, training, awards, raises; basically anything a standard Airman would require. All that is up to the contractor, and the Government just pays a standard contracted rate, no matter what. It's the wave of the future...

Point is, contractor or not... he did his job. So... what if the gate guard had been an active duty airman? True... he can't be fired, but would he have received an article 15 for denying entry?

Personally I think its embarrasing to have Base Commanders paying illegals... or even military "dependants" under the table for services to their families. I've seen it myself and it's just not right. If anyone else got caught doing it there would be consequences. Because it's the base Commander, it's ok... and people lose their jobs, needed just to FEED their families, because they upheld the laws of the base, against people that are a luxury for the Commander. Pathetic.

I also had another thought about this. I believe the article mentioned that the housekeeper was bringing her mother with her onto the base to attend a bible study with the base commanders wife. Ok that may very well be possible but I am kinda doubting that story. Being an enlisted wife I can say I have not, nor do I know of any other enlisted wives that have ever been invited to anything even by say a squadron commanders wife, much less a base commanders wife. Now knowing that people in these postions normally do not socialize with us, are we really to believe they are going to socialize with an immigrant worker who cleans their toilets and scrapes gunk off their floors....I am thinking not. Going to a bible study with the commanders wife...yeah right! Maybe only if the plan was that they were there to clean up after the bible study.

What I thought was funny were these words...

"As to the specific allegations against me...was I hiring illegal aliens? First of all, my bride was the one who contracted to get the house cleaned."
