American Village , New and old ... rent costs?

Postby VetteChic on Sat Mar 06, 2010 5:42 pm

Do any of you live or know about either the American Village in Tachikawa or the new one in Hamura? I may be needing to get into a 3 bedroom by March or so of next year but have no idea how much they are. Of course housing is closed since it's the weekend, and I'm trying to run some figures to see if staying here for a job will be financially possible.

Can anyone give me an idea of the prices for rent and.. maybe even an estimate of what the utilities run?

Thanks in advance.

I live in New American Village in Hamura. My husband and I live in a 3 bedroom. If you are looking for more space then New American Village is it. We pay 220,000 yen for rent. Utilities, it varies. It's just the two of us so doesnt cost that much. The downside is that no pets are allowed. We were told we couldn't even have a fish or a pet turtle. Crazy huh. The house is real nice.

We were thinking about finding a 4 bedroom, but It only takes me about 5 minutes to get to the base. I didn't want to live too far from the base. Hate driving here. Oh yeah i forgot to mention that there are a some more houses being put up. I think two of them are almost done.

I have never been in the towers here. Havent seen the inside of old American Village either. It's like that everywhere. Always cheeper farthur from the base. I heard the utilities can get pretty high out here. Some people told me they can get close to $400. So far I havent had that problem. Scooter? I don't know about that. Hell I'm scared to get on a motercyle let alone one of those. lol yeah call me scaredy cat. I am thinking of a 4 bedroom. Do you have any pics just to give an idea?

Wow! 130,000 for a 4 bedroom? Ugh....i pay 134,000 living in a small apartment at the Bell Hand Club and that 4,000 is for me having an AC unit or is it because i have windows? I should've looked around more but I didn't have much time to do it. :dunno:
