Yeah one of my neighbors cooks something amazing every night.. It smells so good...

I wouldn't mind cats, but when they give the option for them, make one or 2 towers cat friendly and those who wish to move can move.

Like if they make 3000 and 3001 (for example) cat towers. Well if someone in 3002 wants to move there and someone in 3001 wants to move away just switch them.

I mean, TMO is moving the dorm residents for renovations.. So why can't they move people from one tower to the other. Hell it shouldn't take too long, just a day with the 3 dudes that move you in.

Agreed. If anyone wanted to be moved to a tower where they can have cats, through TMO, it should be done so at their own expense, not the Government's.

But, if someone who lived in one of those towers that was made "cats allowed" could show medical reasons of how their allergic to cats, they should be allowed to move to another location on the Government's ticket. If it's just someone who doesn't like cats, tough; again though, at their own expense if they truly dislike cats that much...

I called the housing office today and there is still no change. I also spoke of the town hall meeting and asked if there were plans to add more towers to allow cats, they said no. Anyone know what happened with this?

Hopefully it's been quietly swept under the carpet as it seems it will inevitably end up costing taxpayers money and compounding to complexities of the housing situation on base, all for the simplistic desire of someone wanting a kitty cat, but being unwilling to offer that same sort of sacrifice upon themselves, such as moving to a place where it's already authorized in the first place...

Col. Q signed the new pet policy yesterday. It allows all family housing tower residents to have up to 2 cats. Residents of towers 3003, 3004, 4301 and 4303 may have one dog under 15 pounds (adult weight). Only 2 pets total are allowed per unit. Towers housing unaccompanied members (3000, 3005 and 2085) are not permitted cats or dogs.

I have a copy of the policy which I will be happy to post here if I can figure out how.

I just have to LOL. It figures that this policy would get signed right about the time we are getting ready to PCS.
Oh, well, that's life for ya!! I can get my kitty and/or doggy once we move this summer and get our own house.
